Emily C. Specchio Foundation
David Lewis helped establish the Emily C. Specchio Foundation, a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit organization (EIN 20-983763) dedicated to support scholarships, fellowships, and mentoring for youth who want to change the world for the better. The foundation is named after Emily C. Specchio who inter-related ideas of academic excellence with social responsibility. With this in mind, the mission is to encourage, identify and financially support youth who pursue study and/or programs underlying the values of social justice both nationally and internationally. 100% of all contributions go directly to the programs as we are a family/volunteer run. Some of our programs include:
The Emily C. Specchio Memorial Scholarship at Virginia Tech: Supports students with an outstanding record of community service and high academic achievement.
The Emily C. Specchio Ambassador Program: Provides grants to young adults with big ideas for community service projects either locally or internationally.
Microlending to International Entrepreneurs: Through Kiva.org micro-lending website.
Our offices directly support Eva’s Village, which is a non-profit organization helping those afflicted with opioid addiction, and helps men and women break the cycle of poverty right here in our state. Eva's Village breaks the cycle of poverty and addiction through our unique and integrated approach. Located on a three-block campus in downtown Paterson, our interconnected community of recovery and support helps thousands of men, women, and children each year by addressing basic needs of food and shelter as well as complex issues around addiction, mental illness, and chronic homelessness.
